It’s a new year, and with every new year comes fresh insights and perspectives. As time passes and seasons change, we’re gifted with the opportunity to develop a greater sense of purpose and understanding of who we are in Christ and how He has called us to spend our time here.
So many of us expend our energy seeking approval that has already been given to us. The truth is, we’re created in His image (Gen 1:26), and we do not have to achieve anything to be enough for Him. Our dignity was established in our humanity and our position as His children has been settled because of Him. When we accept His sacrifice, we receive the gift of His Spirit, empowering us to model our lives after His.
There is immense peace in choosing to approach life’s circumstances as Jesus did. The way we perceive our situations, especially our interactions with others, dictates how we live, and by growing spiritually and challenging ourselves to respond like Christ, we free ourselves from the bondage of anger, fear, and shame.
Like years prior, 2022 may present an array of challenges. There may be heartbreak and disappointment, but we can find comfort in knowing that we are equipped to navigate any adversity, to overcome any obstacle. The tools we need are found in His covenants and promises, commandments, prayers, parables, and principles. Our toolkit has been prepared for us. It’s up to us to use it.
Let’s make this upcoming year one that’s recentered on His truths, the teachings in His Word, and the lifestyle He modeled in His ministry. As we align our perspective with His, we’ll begin to experience an abundance of peace and joy.
His grace is upon you. His Spirit is in you. And His favor is toward you.
It’s going to be a great year ahead!
Blessings,
Shannon
